The Metropolitan Police said they’re looking at video showing Downing Street workers laughing and joking about a Christmas party to see whether they should investigate.
“We are aware of video acquired by ITV News pertaining to suspected violations of the Health Protection Regulations at a Government facility in December 2020,” the organisation stated in a statement.
“It is not our policy to examine retroactive violations of the Covid 19 restrictions on a regular basis, but the film will be taken into account.”
Boris Johnson’s advisers laughed about a Downing Street Christmas party only days after a festive event was allegedly conducted in violation of lockdown regulations.
In December 2020, the Prime Minister’s then-press secretary Allegra Stratton and advisor Ed Oldfield, as well as other aides, were caught on camera laughing about a “fictional” party.
