Eamonn Holmes dumps This Morning and joins Pro Free Speech news channel GB News.

After 15 years hosting This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford, Eamonn Holmes is due to depart the ITV programme to join GB News.

The 61-year-old veteran journalist will head his own programme several times a week on the news channel, following a slew of renowned journalists who have jumped ship for the ‘free speech’ initiative.

A source told The Mirror that Eamonn’s exit ‘came at just the right moment for both him and ITV,’ noting that ‘all good things come to an end.’

Meanwhile, Eamonn’s exit is likely to jeopardise Ruth’s position on This Morning. She’s ‘unlikely to stay on the programme without him,’ according to the tabloid, but is anticipated to continue as a regular on Loose Women.

Following a 14-year tenure, Eamonn and Ruth were succeeded in December by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

‘Eamonn’s move to GB News marks the end of an era,’ the insider said. ‘He’ll be missed by many ITV viewers.’
