Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is under fire from former President Donald Trump for allegedly interfering in the 2016 election by giving more than $400 million to local election agencies.

According to recent research, the funds were supposedly utilised to assist election office personnel in dealing with a surge in mail-in voting during the COVID-19 epidemic. Republicans are latching on to statistics released by former University of Dallas economist William Doyle in The Federalist, which suggests that the money may have aided Biden’s campaign in Texas last year.

Trump told the New York Post – ‘My reaction is that this was a carefully orchestrated attempt to convert official government election offices into get-out-the-vote operations for one political party and to insert political operatives into election offices in order to influence and manipulate the outcome of the election,’

Speaking to O’Reilly, Trump said: ‘What he did, in my opinion, was illegal,’ O’Reilly fired back saying ‘He’s going to get away with it,’ to which the 45th President said, ‘Well, you don’t know if he’s going to get away with it. OK.’

In any case, Zuckerberg’s wife’s spokesperson insisted that the couple’s donations to the charity were lawful.
