Michael Gove sights the seat of Foreign Secretary after claim of Dominic Raab being ejected heat up.

Rumours from insiders according to the Express Newspaper, State, Boris Johnson is planning to oust Raab from his position as UK Foreign Secretary.

His possible replacement is alleged to be the Current Chancellor of the Dutchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove, who has been eyeing up the job in recent months, saying he “wants a foreign facing portfolio”.

The claims say the reason why Boris may be ousting Raab is down to his handling of the current Afghan Crisis. This reshuffle is said to be about Boris readying the Government for the next General election.

The Express say a source told them: “The PM would like to get Gove out of the Cabinet Office because he is being blamed for briefing against colleagues and is seen as too powerful. Foreign Secretary is a big job but one which is harder to use as a platform for leadership ambitions.”

“Raab has not had a good crisis, but the PM wants to keep him in the cabinet, and as First Secretary, he performed well when the PM was in hospital last year.”

“He may combine the Cabinet Office ‘fixer’ role with effectively being Deputy Prime Minister.”

Though some are urging Boris Johnson to press the Raab eject button before the Autumn conference, the Boris Johnson team states the reshuffle will most likely occur after the New Year.
