EU LUNACY EXPOSED: 20% of post Brexit checks take place in NI – three times more than Rotterdam

Around 20 percent of EU’s border checks take place in Northern Ireland. This highlights the daily disruption caused by post Brexit trade rules.


According to officials on ground, 20% of all shipments that required agri-food controls and checks were handled by authorities in the region.

Downing Street will now be using the latest stats to show the disruption caused by the EU-ordered red tape. The number of checks will only increase after a series exemptions to the rules, such as the EU’s ban against British sausages being sold within the region, expire in the autumn.
