The former Conservative speaker of the house has jumped ship and joined Labour after stating the Conservatives are “reactionary, populist, nationalistic and sometimes even xenophobic”.
The Observer released the comments saying that he wanted to help Labour oust Johnson from office. (nothing to do with Brexit)
“I am motivated by support for equality, social justice and internationalism. That is the Labour brand,”
“The conclusion I have reached is that this government needs to be replaced.”
To be honest, the way he acted during his time as speaker of the house and through Brexit made it clear his loyalties lay with the Left, especially after Labour headed by Jeremy Corbyn lined up one by one to hug Bercow as he left the position of speaker.
