EU Fishing bosses are not happy with the UK and Jersey, accusing them of breaching the Trade and Cooperation agreement around fishing rights.
Despite Jersey giving the EU till the 1st of July to submit the appropriate paperwork required to get a fishing license under the new rules, the EU is now requesting a complete suspension of the new system that controls access into Britains fishing waters.
The EU said they will not back down and will continue with a hardline approach during the next Joint Partnership Council meeting. French Fishermen are demanding the EU take concrete action against the UK if they don’t back down with an agreement allowing the French access.
The European Commission is calling for the British Crown Dependency’s new system for controlling its waters after Brexit to be suspended. This is despite an amnesty being introduced by St Helier for French fishermen until July 1st giving them time to submit appropriate documents.
