It looks like things are set to get much more challenging for the EU Commission Chief Ursula Von Der Leyen after strong Eurosceptics from EU nations are meeting to set up a Eurosceptic supergroup to sway the balance of power.
Hungary’s Viktor Orban, Italy’s Matteo Salvini and Poland’s Mateusz Morawiecki are joining forces to rattle Brussels to its core.
This sudden move was after Hungarian PM Mr Orban removed his Fidesz movement out of the European People’s Party group. Mr Orban is now said to be in talks with his Polish counterpart to join forces.
Mr Salvini is up for this move as well, saying: “We also talk about migration policies, international alliances, attitudes towards Russia, China and the role that Turkey is playing, which is indeed, a problem at the gates of Europe.”
With Orban leaving the EPP, it’s has opened a massive chasm for Eurosceptics to club together, creating a “‘new idea for Europe”.
Some in the EU said that it would not work due to differing positions on Russia. However, they agree that it’s not impossible that these nations could unite after Mr Salvini and Ms Le Pen share a group with differing views regarding Moscow.
