Sadiq Khan, who is chief of the Met in London, has said he is writing to the police commissioner to answer why the Police came down hard on Protesters who attended Clapham Common vigil last night.
I’m unsure if it’s slipped Khans mind, but protests and mass gathering are not allowed as we are in Lockdown.
Khan Tweeted: “The scenes from Clapham Common are unacceptable. The police have a responsibility to enforce Covid laws, but from images I’ve seen, it’s clear the response was at times neither appropriate nor proportionate.”
“I’m contact with the Commissioner & urgently seeking an explanation.”

From the videos last night the vigil was highjacked by leftist agitators going after the Police to gain media coverage.
Before this event took place, the Police gave a written warning to say to those going to stay away as covid rules are in place and enforced.
Khan, for months, has been telling the Police to enforce the covid rules and give out fines to those who break them.
The Labour leader Keir Starmer, who is another hypocrite, has criticised the Police for doing their job enforcing the rules that he and Boris pushed through parliament.
The scenes in Clapham this evening are deeply disturbing. Women came together to mourn Sarah Everard - they should have been able to do so peacefully.— Keir Starmer (@Keir_Starmer) March 13, 2021
I share their anger and upset at how this has been handled. This was not the way to police this protest.
The Police are told to enforce the rules that politicians make in parliament, yet if the rules are enforced, and it goes wrong, the politicians do a runner and blame the Police.
It can’t be both ways. You enforce the rules or rid of the rules altogether.
