EU stops 300,000 vaccines going to Australia.

Italy has enacted an EU export control mechanism that has stopped vaccines leaving Italy heading for Australia.

A statement from the Italian foreign ministry said: “The Italian proposal to deny the authorisation was approved by the European Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs then formally issued the export denial order on the same day.”

Australia is yet to comment on the situation, but this shows the EU is starting to go down the protectionism road.
