Piers Morgan kicks off at Matt Hancock live on TV over PPE contracts.

My Image

Today, on Good Morning Britain, Matt Hancock was interrogated by Piers Morgan regarding PPE contracts.

Piers Morgan labelled Matt Hancock from the start a guilty man after a court found Matt Hancock had broken the law by not filling paperwork quickly enough regarding who got the contracts regarding emergency PPE.

Matt Hancock said to Piers that he would have done the same if he was in Hancock’s shoes. Hancock said it was either let people die or break the rules to ensure the NHS had PPE due to very low stock levels at the beginning of the pandemic.

Hancock said if I had to do it again, I would.

Piers said if he were in charge, he wouldn’t have done the same. Piers said he would have done his best in the confines of the law.

Neither side was willing to back down.

What’re your thoughts on this? Who’s right, and who is wrong?

I’m not a Matt Hancock fan, but on this occasion he did the only thing that he could do in the situation we needed these supplies urgently or who know how many more lives may have been lost. There are some occasions when you just have to do whether you are breaking the law or not. I don’t understand the judge in the High Court he could have said, yes, the law was broken BUT it was an unprecedented situation and action had to be taken immediately. Common Sense once again is absent. You’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t you just can’t win.

Doing the right thing is more important than sticking to a law that would have cost lives. It takes a real man to make that judgment and a sniveling jobsworth to get it wrong.

Piers morgan is a shameful liar of course he would have done the same & so would anybody else given that chioce. The press & media have been disgraceful with their nagative & condisending attitude throughout the whole pandemic. Quick to condemn & accuse with what they call holding to account!!
