In an unbelievable move from Michel Barnier, Mr Barnier tried to blame Brexit for the EU’s near triggering of Article 16 in Northern Ireland during his European business summit appearance.
A message from the European Business Summit on Twitter read:
Barnier asked about the near triggering of Article 16 @ebsummiteurope .
“It is clear it was a mistake – but it was immediately corrected”.
One of the three main concerns of the Brexit negotiation was ‘peace in Ireland’, he says.
Problems are caused by Brexit – not protocol.
Barnier then put a failed threat out masked as a concern saying: “I hope it will not begin again,”.Will, the British Government, put up with the EU passing the blame for their actions on those who voted to leave the EU? Should Boris step in with a counter comment?
