You would have thought the EU Commission would have learnt its lesson by the reaction from member and former member states of the EU when it comes to banning vaccines from leaving the EU, but they haven’t.
Unbelievably, moments after the EU Commission Chief, Ursula Von Der Leyen apologised for the triggering on Article 16, German MEP Manfred Weber immediately shot down the apology, saying “An export ban on European-produced vaccines must remain on the table”.
The German MEP pushed punishment for the UK if the UK was not willing to deliver doses of vaccine to the EU.
Mr Weber said: “We support cooperation with other states but without being naive as Europeans.
“An export ban on European-produced vaccines must remain on the table in our view.
“If the United Kingdom is not willing to deliver doses to Europe, why should we deliver doses to the United Kingdom?”
It seems the EU has not changed their spots, neither is their apology to Northern Ireland and Ireland sincere. The row on vaccines continues.
