Scotland’s highest court has dismissed sturgeon’s second referendum dream. Without consent from Westminster, a second referendum can’t take place.
This case was brought to Scotland’s court by “Forward As One group” with the hope to prove they could hold a second referendum without the consent of Westminster.
The case was dismissed ruling their case “plainly raised prematurely” without consent for a second referendum by Westminster.
Lady Carmichael said it was “unnecessary and would be inappropriate for me to express an opinion on the question of law” based on a premature “assumption that a referendum is to be conducted under an Act of the Scottish Parliament”.
This runs against sturgeons threat of taking the UK Government to court if they dare refuse a second referendum if sturgeon wins a landslide victory in the coming May election.
