The UK and EU have held two private phone calls regarding fishing in the past 24hrs according to reports.
The calls were to see if the UK and EU could find a deal around fishing. The two negotiators have been in touch daily to see if they could find compromises around fishing.
This morning Britain offered the EU a five-year deal where Britain would only take 30-35% of its own fish, in its own waters. With a renegotiation on quotas after the 5-year term.
The EU has since rejected this offer as they want the majority catch over a 7 year period. Britain compromised two thirds of its catch, in its own waters during two private phone calls. EU REJECTS OFFER WANTING MORE.
