Simon Jack, who’s BBC’s business editor appeared on DateLine spouting that Britain doesn’t want all the fish, “they just want a slightly better deal”. While it’s true that as it stands, the UK hasn’t the fleet to catch all the fish, what is the point is that the UK has a control on the quota given, and to whom it’s given to. It’s an insult to suggest British fishermen only want a slightly better deal as if British fishers only want a few more crumbs to shut them up.
While the MSM continues to demean our British fishermen and the relevances of the industry saying it’s only 0.1 percent of UK GDP, the truth is they are British waters. It’s about time that Britain took advantage of its own seas to rebuild, jobs, boats, towns, villages, income and industries around fisheries. We once had one of the biggest fishing fleets, and once we’re out of the EU in its entirety, we can rebuild back better once again.
