A statement has been released by the Brexit trade negotiator Lord Frost on twitter. His words seems very deflated after he championed carrying on with the trade negotiations to seek a deal.
The very notion that the EU is now expecting the UK to aid all the moves going forward as if their negotiation stance has fully respected Britains sovereignty is shocking and goes against the agreement which states the autonomy and sovereignty of the UK must be respected in the negotiations.
All the way through these negotiations we’ve seen the EU treat the UK as a satellite nation of the EU superstate, they are carrying on as if the UK owe the EU it’s fishing and territorial waters with their push for unrestricted access, co control of British waters and status quo on quota catch.
The EU also want the UK to sign up to the European court of Justice under the terms of Level playing field which would mean the UK would only be able to sign trade agreements with the over sight and green light from the EU.
Boris is going to make a decision tomorrow.
In Lord Frosts reaction he wrote three tweets saying:
2/3 Also surprised by suggestion that to get an agreement all future moves must come from UK. It's an unusual approach to conducting a negotiation.— David Frost (@DavidGHFrost) October 15, 2020
3/3 PM @BorisJohnson will set out UK reactions and approach tomorrow in the light of his statement of 7 September.— David Frost (@DavidGHFrost) October 15, 2020
