Most pubs in North of England will be forced to shut from Monday in an effort to curb rise in COVID cases.

Tonight it’s being reported by the Sun that Boris Johnson will be closing pubs across most of North England. This includes Manchester and Liverpool from Monday in the hope it cut down the outbreaks of COVID-19 that has recently risen in the North of England according to the government.

In the Sun article, it said that all other sectors would remain open except for hospitality. According to the Financial Times, Rishi Sunak is said to be putting a new financial package together to help businesses that are being forced to shut by the government.

This move by Boris and his government follows Scotland’s plan to shut all pubs in Scotland for 16 days starting Friday under their new restrictions. With these further restriction, Boris is facing a massive backlash from ministers as many in the hospitality industry will have to throw in the towel, meaning jobs lost and another hit on the economy.

Below is a photo of the new three-tier system Boris wants to introduce.

What’re your thoughts on this? Should pubs be shutting? Should Boris release the evidence showing that by closing the hospitality industry COVID cases will fall?
