On today’s Daily Politics Live show, Labour’s Dawn Butler stuttered and stumbled all the way through her interview after being asked if she supported Kier Starmer’s statement after he said he was glad Rule Britannia and Land of hope and glory was reinstated on BBC’s last night of the Proms.
First of all, Dawn claimed that she didn’t know Kier’s position in which the BBC’s presenter re-uttered what he said. Dawn then said she didn’t follow this story and finished by saying these songs shouldn’t be played in public due to COVID 19.
My question is, why was it so hard to give a straight answer on such a simple question? If Dawn agreed with Kier, she would have cheered it to the rafters; instead, she did what every politician does when avoiding answering a question and that deflect away.
