Guy Verhofstadt demands Boris to revert back to the original withdrawal agreement, or face painful implications.

Whenever there’s controversy in the EU Belgium MEP Guy Verhofstadt isn’t far behind. Today he hit out at Boris over the rewriting of the withdrawal agreement. Guy states that Boris must “recommit” and revert to the original withdrawal agreement saying: “Brexit is damaging enough. “Any move by Mr Johnson to undermine the Withdrawal Agreement would have painful implications for the UK’s global reputation & do significant damage to EU & UK citizens alike.

“I hope he will recommit to the obligations he has made under international law.”
However, many took to social media to express their outrage against the MEP’s latest attack against Brexit.

Former Brexit Party MEP for the West Midlands, Martin Daubney also hit out at his latest comments.
He added: “You’ve spent the past four years doing little other than an attempt to hammer the ‘UK’s global reputation’.
“Now you realise the EU’s demands are being pushed back against; you pretend to care?”

The British Government said: “As a responsible Government, we cannot allow the peace process or the UK’s internal market to inadvertently be compromised by unintended consequences of the protocol.

“So we are taking limited and reasonable steps to clarify specific elements of the Northern Ireland protocol in domestic law to remove any ambiguity and to ensure the Government is always able to deliver on its commitments to the people of Northern Ireland.
“If we don’t take these steps we face the prospect of legal confusion at the end of the year and potentially extremely damaging defaults, including tariffs on goods moving from GB to Northern Ireland.”

  1. I disagree with Guy Verhofstadt. Who is he to demand that Boris must revert back to the original withdrawal agreement. He just wants our money but he is not interested in the UK at all. UK was the cash cow of the EU & now they (EU) are suffering financially. HE IS A TROUBLEMAKER.

  2. His face says it all. A very unpleasant type. thinking about he money they will lose with us gone. Thank goodness we do not have to be preached to by him and his kind any more. Glad Boris is doing what the people voted for. We are out and hopefully with no deal.

  3. The EU is nothing more than the fourth Reich but with economic force. It is undemocratic and is merely an extension of German power. The EU is essentially Germany who makes all the rules and all the demands. The UK must leave and leave quickly or it will become a vassal state like Italy, Greece, Portugal and Spain, all of which saw rise in poverty since joining the EU.
