After David Frost saying the UK will not be a “client state” of the EU, it’s predicted that this week’s trade talks will end in a complete collapse. It is already organised that EU commission president will be meeting Boris in October to see if there is a way through to make an agreement work. Boris has warned that if a deal isn’t finalised by 15th October 2020, Britain will walk from the negotiation table.
Boris said: “If we can’t agree by then, then I do not see that there will be a free trade agreement between us, and we should both accept that and move on.”
David Frost said: “We want to get back the powers to control our borders, and that is the most important thing.
“If we can reach an agreement that regulates trade like Canada’s, great.
“If we can’t, it will be an Australian-like trading agreement and we are fully ready for that.”
