EU FURY – Over Britains post Brexit fishing plans – “Barnier cannot budge while this stays on the table. He would be crucified.”

Reports from an article in the Sun reveals No10 has plans that would “Double” the British fisherman’s catch post Brexit.

This news from the PM’s office has sparked fury in the EU coastal fishing regions in the EU. France, Ireland and Denmark are said to be particularly upset about these plans as it would hinder the amount they can catch compared to previous years.

With these plans now in the public domain, David Frost is said to have a battle on his hands after EU leaders have said they will fight him tooth and nail to prevent this as the EU are set to lose a third of their fishing fleet due to Britain’s departure.

Britain is set to take back control of its laws, money and waters.

Though the weeks ahead will be challenging in negotiations, it’s been reported that David Frost is standing strong for Britain rejecting Barnier’s demands for Britain to compromise on their redlines. With the eighth-round of talks starting next week, the EU is extremely fearful of a collapse in negotiations meaning No Deal exit becomes a reality.

An EU source said: “There is no way the EU can agree to this maximalist demand. Absolutely no way.

“Barnier cannot budge while this stays on the table. He would be crucified.”

German ministers also hit back demanding the UK sign up to “at least the status quo”.

French MEP Pierre Karleskind, head of the EU Parliament’s fisheries committee, branded the UK’s plans “unrealistic”.

But the PM’s spokesman retaliated said the EU needed to show “more realism”.

  1. The UK’s sovereignty is not for sale. Give up one inch of territory, one fish within it and Brexit is meaningless. Boris needs to find a spine and show the EU bloc heads the door.

  2. David Frost would also be annihilated if he move on sovereignty or fishing. So the eu have been unrealistic to think we would move. If the roles were reversed they wouldn’t give any room to us, which is obvious in the way they have decimated our fishing stocks and ruined our fishing industry over the years

  3. They loved it when May walked in after the deal she did all stood and clapped and she relished it. A very bad deal for the U.K. and the EU loved it. Boots on the other foot and it doesn’t seem so attractive now!!
We leave WTO we then talk about fishing etc.

  4. the EU havenot been trying to negotiate any thing they have been trying to dictate, they have have had the gal too allow massive boats to trawl uk waters during talks also French navy aiding i migrants across the channel they have enough wet lands to breed their frogs and should have enough unsold veg to feed the snails time to walk let them choke on their arrogance

  5. I think we should truly stand our ground. The EU need to understand we are taking back our waters, they will no longer have a say and negotiate what we think is reasonable but putting Great Britain first. They no longer have a say on our lands, laws and money. We will have our free reign to make what deals we want, not what they want us to do. No longer will we comply to their bullying, and demands.

  6. We have to stand firm. It is the same as if our country was invaded, like the Falkland.
Our fishing waters should not be invaded . Our fishermen have gone through enough difficulties.
Stand firm Britain, I hope the politicians see our thoughts .

  7. We should make sure that we have the capability to cut the nets of anyone fishing in our waters, ideally from helicopters which can arrive very quickly, so they have no time to take up their nets.

  8. We are going to be needing a lot more patrol craft for the return of immigrants and stopping and confiscating the fishing craft that continue to fish our waters.
