People have spoken, we should call it a day and head to the exit on WTO just like we originally voted.

With EU – UK trade negotiations continuing of 7th September we asked our readers their thought. We asked, “Should UK trade negotiator David Frost withdraw from trade negotiations on 7th September when Frost and Barnier meet for the eighth round of talks?”

We had nearly 700 comments in a matter of hours; the majority of comments said David Frost should call it a day and prepare for an exit without a deal. In the last round of negotiations, both sides said, as it stood, we were rapidly heading for a No Deal exit as Barnier said a deal was “unlikely”.

As a brexiteers I can categorically state that we never voted to leave with a deal, I like millions of others voted to exit the EU just as the question asked fully. Below, are some of the comments from the problem asked on our Brexit page. Join the conversation, have your say in the comments below.

“We have gone past the deadline agreed for a framework of a deal, so we are perfectly in our rights to withdraw now. It has been a complete waste of time… but we needed to try at least – but the EU have been totally unrealistic in their demands. WTO with a clean break now please.”

“If I have made it really uncomfortable for the British to leave, then I will have done my job!” Remember these words or similar, and tic toc tic toc. WALK away Now, no more pissing in the wind.”

“Slam that door hard behind you and then go back and slam it again. No deal. Out, Out, Out. And then if they want to talk afterwards it will be on our terms. They’ll want us before we want them.”

People spoke and they want to exit on WTO Rules.

“Just walk away, the EU just won’t accept we are willing to go alone. It is not democratic a few chosen dictators making the final decisions on everything. They need our trade as much as we need theirs. Don’t forget how they have taken away our industry and allowed to set up in subsidised states in Europe.”

“I keep hearing remainers calling the EU or friends. Our so called friends. Been throwing threats at us from the start. Its called bullying. As a sovereign nation we have the right to leave the EU under our own constitution. I ask my self if what the EU say is so true it’s bad for the UK we will be poorer nation they claim to have given us so much. Then why are the EU trying so hard to punish us & trying to make it so difficult to leave ?. What is the EU so scared of ?. Why are they trying to make us have a level playing field ?. If what they are saying it’s so bad for the UK regards to trade with the rest of the world. What are they worried about. Competition may be. But they saying we will fail big time. So let us go & die on our own sword. Surely it’s going to benifit the EU. Unless it’s lies & propaganda been pumped out by the EU.”

“Yes, Definately, 17.4
Million voted in 2016 to LEAVE 100% We do not want a deal with the EU we want our country back so we the British people can run it ourselves. We want to take FULL control of All our affairs and Not to be CONTROLLED by Brussels unelected leaders. Boris now needs to WALK AWAY, LEAVE, RESPECT THE 17.4 MILLION VOTERS, WE HAVE NOT CHANGE OUR MINDS.”

  1. “People have spoken?”
Almost for every person that said Leave the EU, somebody said Remain.
Leave voters won out – but what was categorically clear in June 2016 that the vote to Leave was WITH a tariff-free trade deal (that would not erode UK citizen rights and deliver £350m extra a week to the NHS).
Brexiters trying to gaslight their own followers…

    1. Where on the ballot paper did it say to leave with a deal, it didn’t, it said to leave or stay. Your believing your own fairy story

  2. Brexit means Brexit: no! If Europe doesn’t want to agree so bye, bye 27 we must now walk away and be resalute! No more negotiations: end of!

  3. I voted To LEAVE and that is what l still want LEAVE WITHOUT A DEAL SO JUST WALK AWAY NOW NO MORE TALKING MR DAVID FROST JUST WALK AWAY THEY HAVE HAD 4 ODD YEARS NOW BYE BYE EU

  4. We left the EU on 01/01/2020 and in the transition period until Hogmanay, the date to extend the transition period has passed, but we are under EU law until Hogmanay. When Barnier says the Brits are going backwards he means We are not following T.MATs surrender deal and he thought it was a case of,signed, sealed and delivered.Boris will get a deal he wants from the EU or it will be a WTO deal, but for sure we will be leaving as a free and independent country with our own laws on Hogmanay. I am not a lawyer but we are going nowhere fast.I suspect the EU will say we need to wait until Hogmanay to get more money out of us. PS we have never needed the EU, and never will. Happy days a coming!

  5. out is out what part of our 1688/89 bill of rights does europe and parliamentarians not grasp sovereign powers of the nation and its judiciary cannot and should not be over ruled by foreign powers only treacherous treasonous politicians would contemplate allowing such a thing but govts cavalier attitude towards the people makes us wonder if the queens govts fit for purpose out is out god queen and country not reich volk fuhrer
