Holding true to their Anti-Brexit stance after stating Brexit would be happening, the new leader from the Liberal Democrat’s Ed Daley says he will oppose a ‘No Deal’ Brexit and hold Boris to getting a deal from the EU.
Ed Davey who was announced as the leader of the deflated Liberal Democrat’s said he has no other option but to accept the break away from the EU as the outcome of the last election was overwhelmingly in favour of Brexit. What he can sit back and let happen is a No Deal outcome to these negotiations.
Mr Davey said: “Boris Johnson said he wanted a deal, Boris Johnson said he opposes a no-deal — we want to hold him to account for that,”.
“The government should be striving to minimize any economic damage that comes from Brexit, and a no-deal Brexit would add on to the economic disaster of COVID.”
Though Ed Davey comes out with strong rhetoric against a No Deal Brexit, his parties performance in the last election on a “B*ll*cks To Brexit” ticket, devastated his party, with even their party leader who claimed she would be Prime Minister losing her seat.
Fortunately for the Brexiteers, Ed doesn’t have the numbers to stop a No Deal exit as the Tories have a 78 seat majority in Parliament giving Boris the muscle to take us out on a no-deal if needed to.
Ed said he won’t ever back down from his anti-Brexit values and will do his best to push Britain in a deal which ties Britain into the single market and customs union.
