It’s being reported that the UK negotiation team has vowed to be steadfast on their redlines in the latest round of trade talks.
They’ve said they will continue to make sure the UK will leave the Transition period with control of its sovereign waters, banning EU fishing boats from having unfettered access into Britains fish rich waters.
A confirmed government source has been reported saying: “We remain committed to working hard to find the outlines of a balanced agreement.
“We have been repeatedly clear that we are looking for a deal with, at its core, a free trade agreement similar to the one the EU already has with Canada – that is, an agreement based on existing precedents.
“But what we cannot have is a form of relationship which requires alignment or one that constrains us to the EU’s rules.
“Our priority throughout the process has always been the return of our sovereignty.”
The EU still insists Britain must agree a level playing field with Brussels, which would see the UK tied to EU laws and regulations.
