Our readers suggest that they’re quickly losing faith in Boris Johnson after his lack lustre handling of the Channel Crisis.

Yesterday we asked a question to our readers “Has Boris done enough to tackle the Channel Crisis?”.

Our readers left 600+ comments, most comments showed that Boris Johnson was losing support with his handling over this crisis. Many reasons cropped up why people were unhappy. One reason was, we were seen as being a soft touch in how Britain protects its borders.

People were also very upset when we have veterans/ people living on the streets, people in food banks, the elderly struggling paying for bills and the home office states “The Home Office has a statutory obligation to provide asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute with accommodation”.

Why is it right that people who come to this country illegally, then have the choice to stay at the expense of the tax payers, while the government states there is no money to help those in need?. People have many valid points and Boris needs to do something to restore faith in what he says.

one reader wrote “Boris it’s seems is not the prime minister the country desperately needs! He is a terrible orator, and his speeches continue to be poorly delivered. Unclear and most of the time gives mixed messages and are indecisive at best. Boris needs to be tougher on the EU and China.”

A second reader wrote: “No definitely not there should be emergency laws to return them to the last European country exited. With paperwork that can be drafted on the spot. Once word of returns spreads through the camps on the French coast it makes it a less inviting proposition than the red carpet treatment they are currently getting.”

A third wrote: “How do we know that these people are not sleeper terrorists – most are young men. Our Schools and hospitals are struggling financially already. Housing is in crisis. Now our hotels are full up with these poor people and our tourist industry will suffer from this with all hotels booked up indefinitely. I sympathise with those who are genuine refugees fleeing from harm, but these individuals have crossed many a safe country before coming here.”

  1. Ok he’s got a lot on, but I have seen no focus from him on this crisis so I have to agree with above , it’s hush hush on serious happenings we need a strong leader , he’s done a good job on Brexit , but the immigration is a shambles ..

    1. Its worse than a shambles, its shown he is not up to the job. I cannot see anyother person in the party with the back bone to sort this out.

  2. I thi k that this Government have lost touch with reality. As, a tax paying pensioner who had to work an extra three years I strongly object to illegal immigrants staying in four star hotels and being given forty quid a week. What have they done for this country. Yet, homeless veterans are on the street. How many ISIS supporters have you brought into the country and is it any wonder we don’t feel safe in our own country anymore. We have had to put up with grooming gangs where our children weren’t believed, now this next load of groomers, thieves and murderers. No checks to see if they are criminals. We are a laughing stock of the world a useless set of politicians with no balls. Tow them back before you create a civil war in this country because that’s where its heading. We are not treated the same as Muslims who can do as they please with minimal sentencing for grooming. This country is finished. Need a Maggie Thatcher who wouldn’t have put up with this. What are you all afraid if.

    1. I to am sick of pensioners being ignored, not only do they have to work 3 year’s longer, most have also been working and paying TAXES, since the age of 14, all them years paying into our ECONOMY, these imagrant’s have payed nothing, to our Economy, so why the HELL is it ok for the immigrant’s and ASYLUM SEEKERS, to be given more money a week, then our poor pensioners get in a month, they are left to struggle in later life, after WORKING all their lives, they should be able to ENJOY their RETIREMENT, in stead of Dreading, scrimping and scraping to just get by, you are letting them down, they are the POOREST in Europe,
      ( SHAME ON YOU).

  3. I always had doubts as to wether Boris would stand up and be counted when most needed. Those doubts are being confirmed, He is far too weak and very obviously bottling out with regard to the illegals crossing the channel. He should stand down and give way to the sort of strong leader this country desperately needs in these difficult times.

  4. Boris is a Shadow of his promises. He is thus far holding up on his leaving the EU pledge, but is failing badly in the way he is handling, or failing to handle the immigrant invasion.

  5. I am so disgusted about the illegal migrant crises. No l do not believe Boris is proving to be a good Prime Minister. Once again he lied to the country about sending illegal immigrants back. We need a much much stronger Prime Minister who gets things done, not just talk the talk.

  6. COMMON SENSE YOU LOOK AFER YOUR OWN FIRST,BORIS IS NOT DOING IT, HE GIVES OUR MONEY AWAY LIKE SMARTIES ,TO ANYBODY WHO COMES INTO THIS COUNTRY, HENCE ILLGAL IMMIGRANTS GET A FOUR STAR HOTEL FREE THIS AND THAT ,PLUS 40 POUNDS TO SPEND ON WHAT THEY LIKE, FOR ALL HE KNOWS THEY MIGHT BE SPENDING THAT ON ARMS TO KILL US,DOES HE CARE NO HE DOES NOT OTHER WISE HE WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING FOR US,HOW CAN YOU TRUST A LAIR?????????? the pensioner get less than we do , and we have paid in all our life s, if he is not up to the job, step down and let some body who is

A fifth person wrote: “I think that any and all people entering this country illegally, should be finger printed, photographed and returned immediately and then banned from ever coming here again….it may sound harsh, but we are a small island and these people have traveled through several countries to get here….the government must not pander to refugee groups and similar bodies….there is a legal way to come here”
