VIDEO – Starmer under pressure as Len McCluskey says Unite Union Executive’s want “questions answered” over using party funds to pay off anti-Semitism whistleblowers.

On the BBC Today programme, Len McCluskey who’s the General Secretary of the Unite Union, has come out today saying he will be reviewing their financial support to the Labour Party.

This was provoked after Labour Party Labour leader settled a legal dispute with anti-Semitism whistleblowers.

Len McCluskey stated that Kier made a “Clear Miscalculation” on this after Labour Lawyer’s said that they would have won the case against the whistleblowers.

Len McCluskey said on the Today Programme: “It was a clear miscalculation, I’m afraid, it’s like pinning a sign up to people saying ‘queue here with your writ and get paid out by the Labour Party’.”

Questions need to be answered says Len.
Len says Keir Starmer miscalculated the situation.

Len was then asked that whether he ordered a review into the funding given to the Labour Party which he replied: “I haven’t ordered a review, I was asked a question in an interview, and I responded by saying … when my executive meets I’m quite certain that they would want questions answered.
“It isn’t a question about ordering reviews, but of course we do make donations, affiliations, to the Labour Party.
“It’s our members’ money, their pennies and pounds, and they expect us to be influential.”
