VIDEO – Chinese ambassador attacks Britain on the norms of international relations. Iain Duncan Smith responds: “That is a little bit rich from an ambassador who spends his whole time threatening everybody.”

This morning on the Kay Burley show, on Sky News, Iain Duncan Smith responded to Britain reconsidering Huawei’s position in Britains infrastructure. This sparked outrage from the UK Chinese ambassador saying the UK were trampling on the basic norms of international relations. The ambassador continued saying the consequences may be many, that is pretty chilling.”

IDS didn’t take kindly to the threats from the Chinese saying: “Yeah, that is a little bit rich from an ambassador who spends his whole time threatening everybody.

“And it is a bit rich coming from a China, who has been trampling on every single international norm.

“This is a country and Government that doesn’t agree with the rule of law, human rights and has oppressed the Tibetans and the Christians.

“China is having huge border disputes, it has taken over South China Seas against the objections of the countries that live in that area.”

“We don’t need any lessons about trampling on the norms of normal behaviour.

“China doesn’t accept many of those rules themselves.

“It is time to now say, we want to work with China but they have to recognise there are rules.”
