Nigels message to Boris one year after the Brexit Party smashed the establishment “Let us hope that Boris frees us from transition.”

Nigel Farage
It was a year ago when the Brexit Party won a landslide victory over the establishment parties who wanted to derail Brexit. It was the beginning of the fightback that made the establishment have no other option but to start listening to the people who voted to leave or be ousted.
On that victorious night, the Brexit Party won 29 seats, making it the single biggest party in the European Parliament. Nigel Farage came back to be the people’s insurance policy. On that victorious night, Nigel took to Twitter saying: “A big, simple message – which is we’ve been badly let down by two parties who have broken their promises – we have topped the poll in a fairly dramatic style. “The two-party system now serves nothing but itself. I think they are an obstruction to the modernising of politics.”

With that said it wasn’t long till the Conservatives ousted May and replaced her with Boris Johnson. Boris pledged to take the UK out of the EU during the December elections under the term “Get Brexit Done” he also promised to find “common ground” and to approach politics with “a new and generous spirit”. This was refreshing to hear, after many years of the previous regime who try to scupper the public vote, twisting Brexit into something unrecognisable from what we voted for in 2016.

Boris Johnson took the UK out of the EU on 31st January 2020, but we had to remain in the single market and customs union under the terms of the transition period. Since then the EU has accused the UK of not playing fair yet its the EU who refuse to offer a free trade deal under similar terms of previous contracts they currently have with third countries. On marking the anniversary, Mr Farage said: “One year ago today The Brexit Party stunned the establishment and easily won the European elections. “Without us, Mrs May would have limped on, and there would have been no Brexit on 31st January. Let us hope that Boris frees us from transition.”

Speaking on LBC, Nigel Farage said the UK in the next few weeks, will be entering into an “absolutely critical” time. The Brexit Party leader added: “Today there is a letter to Michel Barnier sent by the UK’s chief negotiator David Frost. “One thing I like about this is that it’s out there, it’s published, it’s open it’s transparent, that’s good. “He goes through, sector by sector, fisheries etc., to point out that free trade agreements, ‘such as the ones you’ve done with Canada or Japan’, would suit us. “A fisheries deal, ‘such as the one you’ve done with Norway’, would suit us.” “He finishes off at the end of the letter saying, ‘what is on offer is not a fair free trade relationship between close economic partners, but a relatively low-quality trade agreement coming with unprecedented EU oversight of our laws and institutions’.”
A fourth and final round of negotiations before a major meeting will take place next month. End of June Boris will meet up with Ursula Von de Leyen to assess whether we carry on with negotiations or call it a day preparing for a WTO Brexit on 31st December 2020.
