EU draws red line for EU-UK trade deal: “No free movement of goods if no free movement of people!”

Britain cannot hope to get frictionless trade with the EU post-Brexit without ensuring freedom of movement of Europeans, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said today in Zagreb. “If there is no freedom of movement of people of course there can be no free movement of goods and services and capital,” she told a news conference in Croatia, which has just taken up the rotating EU presidency.
